Why not throw yourself into the Warsaw experience and head for where the locals go - the largest flea market in Europe held on “Stadion Dziesięciolecia” (Dziesięciolecia Stadium), in the Praga district, just by Poniatowskiego Bridge. Operating from dawn and winding down in the early afternoon, the market is home to over 12,000 traders.

For the best bargains, arrive early (the market opens at 6am and cools down as midday approaches).

You can find here almost everything: copied CDs, leather goods, old gas masks and caps from the former Soviet Union, simple amber jewellery, warm coats and shoes. Keep your eyes peeled and you could become the owner of a statue of Hitler, or a collection of Stalin and Lenin busts. The market is vast, so be prepared to walk a fair way before finding what you are looking for.

The market has become a legend in its own, and in spite of the many pickpockets (you have been warned) and dubious characters, it's a cultural experience that cannot be missed.
