Probably the most important polish film festivals. Every year, in October, over 130 films are screened at cinemas across Warsaw, with movies from countries as far afield as Chile, Taiwan, Iceland and Bulgaria. The WIFF presents the latest and most attractive films from Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and other nearby countries. This festival is also an unique occasion to see beautiful movies, that are unlikely to be distributed and screened in cinemas.

What's more, WIFF is a great way to see interesting Polish productions, and to become acquainted with new trends in Polish cinema.

Sections include New Film New Directors International Competition (in which a grand jury prize is awarded), New Polish Films, German Panorama, Discoveries, Premiers and Documentary Features. There is an audience award to the most popular film in the whole festival.
