J&S Cup

Between April and May every year the capital of Poland became a capital of world tennis for one week. The Warszawianka Tennis Club hosts the international J&S Cup tournament, part of the WTA Tour series.

Prize money of US5,000 attracts top players from around the world. Anna Kournikova, Anastasia Myshkina, Amelie Mauresmo and Venus Williams, who won the tournament in 2004, have all appeared here.

The club previously hosted a much smaller annual event, but thanks to the closing of a tournament in Hamburg and a vacancy on the WTA Tour calendar, Warsaw has risen in the international tennis hierarchy, establishing the J&S Cup in 2002. Today, only 15 tournaments worldwide are ranked higher.
