The National Philharmonic was built in 1901 and presently sits on the same site as the original, which was completely destroyed in the war.

The Philharmonic is home to the Warsaw Autumn Festival, and the International Chopin Competition.

The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra orchestra has several very fine discs to its credit, and travels internationally on a regular basis, having played in venues like Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Hall, Berliner Philharmonie, Royal Festival Hall, Suntory Hall, La Scala, La Fenice, Musikverein, and received rave reviews for its uncompromising and original performances.

Evelyn Glennie gave a startlingly impressive show here recently, and their version of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff is nothing less than awesome, complete with male and female choirs, as well as a children's choir.

Tickets are still very cheap, and can be purchased up to ten days before a given performance date.
