Warsaw Ghetto in depth
Known to be the largest Jewish ghettos in Warsaw, the Warsaw Ghetto was established by the Nazi (who considers themselves as the “Master Race") during World War II. The Nazis were led by a German named Hans Frank on the 16th of October 1940, he holds the title Governor-General. Come November 16, 1940, the Warsaw Ghetto was closed. Thousands of Polish Jews were brought to the Ghetto. It was recorded in history that 100,000 Jews in the Ghetto died. This was due to starvation, rampant diseases primarily typhoid and random killings. Several notable survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto includes, Marek Edelman, Ludwik Hirszfeld , Icchak Cukierman and others testified for the prosecution of Adolf Hitler.
Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising happened on January 18, 1943 where a revolt arose in Warsaw Ghetto. It was during this time when the Nazi planned the expulsion of surviving Jews. The Jewish fought back, resistance started on April 19, 1943 and ended on May 16, 1943. Plenty of Jews died for the German Nazis killed every possible Jews they encountered. It was reported the 56,000 Ghetto residents were killed by the Nazi.
